Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a fast-track immigration program for skilled workers who have already gained Canadian work experience. If you have worked in Canada for at least one year, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency through the CEC.

Who is eligible for the CEC?

To be eligible for the CEC, you must meet the following criteria:

• Have at least one year of continuous skilled work experience in Canada in the past three years.
• Have a Canadian Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report that shows your foreign education is equivalent to a Canadian credential.
• Meet the minimum language requirements in English or French.
• Have enough money to support yourself and your family when you arrive in Canada.

How does the CEC work?

The CEC uses the Express Entry system to manage applications. To apply for the CEC, you must first create an Express Entry profile. Your profile will be assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on your skills, education, work experience, and language ability.

If you have a high enough CRS score, you will be invited to apply for permanent residency. Once you receive an invitation, you have 60 days to submit your application.
