The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who want to live and work in one of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland and Labrador. 

Who is eligible for the AIP?

To be eligible for the AIP, you must:

  • Have a job offer from a designated employer in one of the four Atlantic provinces.
  • Meet the minimum language requirements in English or French.
  • Have enough money to support yourself and your family when you arrive in Canada.

How does the AIP work?

The AIP is a two-step process.

  1. Get a job offer: You must first find a job offer from a designated employer in one of the four Atlantic provinces.
  2. Apply for permanent residence: Once you have a job offer, you can apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system.
